We have had a busy and productive start to the school year! During the first two weeks students across our agricultural courses have participated in a variety of activities from seed collection, rotations, a fire safety presentation, and refreshing planter boxes. Check out our members in action!

We are excited to welcome Mrs. Ramage to the Houston Diversified Agriscience Program! Mrs. Ramage will serve as our Junior FFA Advisor and Principles of Agriscience instructor. She joins us after teaching in Louisiana for the past five years. Mrs. Ramage completed her bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University and her master’s degree from Louisiana State University. She is excited to return to her Mississippi roots with her husband and son and is looking forward to meeting our students, members, parents, and community partners.

We had a great and fun week at SLC!! Members learned about leadership, stepping out of their comfort zone, and community service/service learning. We also got to see Tatum! At the banquet our members received several awards!

*Emily- 1st place Ag Olympics Team and 2nd place Swim Relay
*Zoey- 3rd place Ag Olympics Team and 3rd place Opening/Closing Team
*Embry- 1st place Extemp Speaking, 2nd place Bellyflop Contest, 2nd place Cannonball Contest, 3rd place Opening/Closing Team, and Reflections participant

*Jaslyn- 1st place Bellyflop Contest, 3rd place Opening/Closing Team, Reflections participants, and Member of the Week

Well that’s a wrap for the 93rd MS FFA Convention! What an amazing week we had! From the award sessions to the MSAAE Dinner & Dance to lunch provided by the MS FFA Alumni to the Sam L. Smith concert to the very last and exciting session and everything else in between it was a memorable convention!

*National Chapter Award
*7 State Degree Recipients - Khloe, Makayla, Jaydon, Maggie, Caitlyn, Kimoree, and Daniel
*3 Jr State Degrees - Joe Herald, Maggie, and Tripp
*Receiving our plaques for the contests we placed in: Jr Creed, Marketing Plan, Jr Opening & Closing, Quiz Bowl, Jr Agronomy, Jr Tool ID, Jr Floriculture, Jr Land Judging, and Jr Milk Quality
*Dr. Karen Cook received the MSAAE Outstanding Service Citation and FFA Advisor of the Year
*AND Tatum McWhirter was elected as the 2026-2027 MS FFA State Treasurer!!
