Spread the Music Benefit Concert 2026
Music has the power not only to inspire—it also has the power to change lives.

The annual Spread the Music Benefit Concert 2026 will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, bringing together outstanding young musicians from across the Greater Houston area for an evening of inspiring performances in support of a meaningful cause.

Founded in 2015, the Spread the Music Association (SMA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the mission:
"Spread the Love. Spread the Music."

Its members range from elementary through high school students and represent a wide variety of musical disciplines, including piano, strings, winds, percussion, voice, guitar, and multicultural music.

All proceeds from this year's concert will once again benefit the Girl Up initiative of the United Nations Foundation, supporting girls around the world through education, health, safety, and leadership development.

Over the past nine years, SMA has presented nine annual benefit concerts, raising more than $50,000 for charitable causes. Every participating student not only shares their musical talents but also demonstrates the values of service, compassion, and community leadership through music.

The Fredell Lack Scholarship

Vivace International School of Music is proud to announce the establishment of The Fredell Lack Scholarship, created to encourage and recognize excellence in music education and performance.

The scholarship was established through the generosity of Yuchen Chi and Gang Hou and is dedicated to recognizing students who achieve outstanding results in the Texas All-State Audition process.

2026 Texas All-State Audition Masterclass with Dr. Lin He

To help violin students prepare for the 2026 Texas All-State Audition, Vivace International School of Music is pleased to present an exclusive All-State Audition Masterclass led by Dr. Lin He, Associate Professor of Violin at Louisiana State University and Associate Concertmaster of the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra.

Born into a family of violinists, Dr. He was appointed as a first violinist with the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra while still a student. He later studied with the legendary violinist Zvi Zeitlin and earned his Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the Eastman School of Music. Dr. He made his Carnegie Hall solo debut in 2014 and has since appeared as a soloist, recitalist, and master teacher throughout the United States, Canada, China, and Europe. He has also served as an adjudicator for numerous prestigious competitions and brings extensive experience in performance, teaching, and audition preparation.

This masterclass will focus specifically on the 2026 Texas All-State Audition repertoire. Students will receive individualized coaching on technique, musical interpretation, tone production, rhythm, style, and overall audition performance to help them prepare more effectively for this year's All-State auditions.

We are excited to share Vivace's upcoming summer camp programs at our three campuses! A limited number of spaces are still available, and registration is still open.

Vivace Music Fusion Camp (Age 10-14)
July 20–24 | Vivace Katy (Cinco Ranch)
Recommended for students who have studied their primary instrument for three years or more, or students interested in learning a second instrument, chamber music, ensemble playing, orchestra, or band.

Current participants include Piano, Viola, Electric Bass, and Trombone students. We also welcome Piano, Violin, Viola, Cello, Guitar, Voice, Woodwind, Brass, and Percussion students.

Vivace Music Adventure Camp
July 27–31 | Vivace Houston (Dun Huang Plaza)
August 3–7 | Vivace Sugar Land (Riverstone)
Recommended for beginners, early-level students, or students interested in exploring a second instrument.

Students will strengthen their musicianship through choir, piano activities, sight singing, ear training, and music theory. Vivace faculty representing a variety of instruments will also introduce and demonstrate their instruments, giving students the opportunity to explore a second instrument in an enjoyable and inspiring environment.

Vivace Music Adventure Camp (P**a & Guzheng)
August 10–14 | Vivace Sugar Land (Riverstone)
Recommended for beginners, early-level students, or students interested in exploring a second instrument.

In addition to choir, piano activities, sight singing, ear training, and music theory, Ms. Changlu Wu will introduce and demonstrate two traditional Chinese instruments—P**a and Guzheng—allowing students to experience their unique sounds and musical traditions firsthand.
