After over twenty years of teaching in elementary school with a concentration in reading and ESL, Patricia became trained in the Basic Language Skills at Neuhaus Education Center in order to help students with dyslexia and related challenges in reading and writing. She is currently in her second year working as a part-time reading interventionist in a public school using the Neuhaus dyslexia curri
culum. Last year she worked with students across the grades to help bring reading skills to grade level. She has also completed school district training in dyslexia intervention and will undergo additional training and follow up sessions through the academic term. Patricia is a certified teacher, (bilingual/ESL, PK-6th), with a B.A. in French and Spanish from the University of Texas at Austin, maintains fluency in both languages, and holds a M. in Guidance and Counseling from the University of Houston. Assessments are given periodically along with some assignments to help students meet learning objectives. She has a passion for teaching reading and helping students progress in school!
