One of the many benefits of being a PTA member is having a voice in shaping Texas PTA's work during the 90th Texas Legislature.

Not everyone can travel to Austin to testify during the legislative session, but every member can help shape the issues Texas PTA brings forward. By taking 15 minutes to complete the Texas PTA Advocacy Survey, members can tell us what they are seeing and experiencing in their homes, schools, and local communities.

You do not need to be an expert on laws or government to participate. Hearing from members with different backgrounds and experiences helps Texas PTA truly understand the needs of local communities.

Because the survey is open exclusively to PTA members, it is also a great opportunity to show others the value of joining. Membership connects people in your community to a statewide voice speaking up for students and public education.

Although the House and Senate will not convene until January 2027, the Texas PTA Advocacy Committee and Board of Directors are already preparing. This summer, we held six listening sessions focused on key issues impacting families, children, and schools across Texas. Those conversations shaped this survey, and now we want to hear from YOU and other PTA members in every part of the state.

The more survey responses we receive, the better Texas PTA can develop legislative priorities that reflect our members' voices and experiences.

Please complete this survey by Wednesday, September 9, 2026, share it with your members, and invite others to join your PTA so they can add their voices too!

CCISD high school students, please consider volunteering at our Books Alive family festival on Saturday, September 12, 2026.

This FREE interactive festival will be held at the Learner Support Center (across from CLHS) and will feature many books though interactive activities and immersive experiences. From drone flying and magicians to petting zoos and crafts, families will enjoy a day of fun and community while celebrating the joy of reading!
