Equip your classroom with practical, research-based tools during School Literacy and Culture’s upcoming four-part workshop series on executive function and social-emotional learning. Beginning Sept. 15, this series delivers age-specific strategies divided into three age specific tracks: one for infants to 36 months, Pre-K 3 and 4, and kindergarten through second grade educators. Participants will walk away with key takeaways, including how to support emotional co-regulation, use purposeful play to encourage active engagement and strengthen the fundamental skills children need for academic success and positive social interactions. Chapelwood School for Young Children joined us for "The Magic of Read Aloud" to explore fresh books and storytime strategies, while River Oaks Baptist School took a deep dive into "The Project Approach" to bring hands-on classroom projects to life.

This week, School Literacy and Culture visited St. Martin's for two different sessions: “Fostering Literacy and Language Through Play” for infant and toddler teachers, and “Ramps and Pathways” for preschool teachers. We enjoyed the collaborative and driven nature of the educators. It was a joy to see them jump right into sharing ideas and thinking outside the box for classroom implementation.

Investing in our teachers means investing in our students' success. 🍎 Teachers from across the Houston-Galveston area recently gathered for workshops on The Magic of Read Aloud and Name Curriculum, where they explored practical ways to leverage student names for skill-building throughout the classroom space.
