We are thrilled to shine the spotlight on Suzete's student Gabriel, a student whose dedication and character truly set an example for our school!
"Gabriel is auditioning for "Guild National Certificate" this year. He is a great student. Always does his part. Works very hard and practices everyday. He's very respectful, kind, listens and participates during the lessons." - Suzete

It’s Music Quote Monday.
“Music is the space between the notes.” – Claude Debussy
Debussy invites us to listen not just to what is played, but to what is left unplayed.
In music, silence is not an absence. It is structure. It shapes phrasing, creates tension, and gives meaning to what surrounds it. Without it, music would lose its depth.
Life is not so different.
As spring unfolds — a season that arrives not all at once, but in moments of growth and pause — we’re reminded that space has purpose. The pauses we allow, the quiet we create, can bring clarity to what might otherwise feel crowded or rushed.
In both music and life, it is often the space between that allows everything else to be heard.

It’s Music Quote Monday — and this week, we’re celebrating 40 years of music at Kingwood Music School!
Renowned cellist and music teacher Yo-Yo Ma said, "Music enhances the education of our children by helping them to make connections and broadening the depth with which they think and feel.”
He continued, “If we are to hope for a society of culturally literate people, music must be a vital part of our children’s education.”
To our Kingwood Music School students: What you’re doing each time you practice goes beyond learning an instrument.
You’re building the ability to focus, to listen, to make connections, and to express what you think and feel in a deeper way.
For 40 years, students just like you have been part of that journey — growing not only as musicians, but as thoughtful and creative individuals.
You are part of that legacy now. And that’s something pretty special.

It’s Music Quote Monday — and if you’re feeling the pressure of Tax Week, this one might hit home:
“Sometimes music is the only thing that takes your mind off everything else.” — Anonymous
You know that feeling when your brain just won’t slow down? To-do lists, numbers, deadlines…
And then a song comes on — and for a few minutes, everything else fades into the background. Music has a way of doing that. No effort required. It just pulls you in and gives your mind a break.
What’s your go-to song or piece when you need to reset?

It’s Music Quote Monday (a day late) — and during this post-Easter week, we’re reflecting on the deeper meaning of music.
Kahlil Gibran, in today’s quote, speaks of music as something that does not belong solely to the ears, but to the spirit — a language without words, yet somehow more precise than any we could speak. It does not argue. It does not persuade. It reveals.
In its presence, the ordinary becomes luminous. What feels heavy begins to soften. What feels unfinished can, even if only for a moment, feel whole.
Music does not change who we are. It reminds us of what is already there.

It’s Music Quote Monday — and with Johann Sebastian Bach’s birthday tomorrow, we’re reflecting on the deeper purpose of music.
Bach believed music could do more than sound beautiful — it could lift the spirit and connect us to something greater.
To our Kingwood Music School students:
As you practice this week, remember that what you’re playing isn’t just notes on a page. You’re creating something that can bring calm, focus, and even joy — both to yourself and to others.
Even simple pieces can carry meaning. Even small moments of practice can create something lasting.
