Day 1 of concluded with a fast-paced trading session, featuring items such as regional foods and state t-shirts.

One of the evening's highlights was ice cream made with milk from the Bearden Dairy Research Center at Mississippi State University. 🍦 It was the perfect sweet treat after a busy day, and yes… it was yummy!

Tree rings tell the story—and our team knows how to read it. 🌳📖 Huge thanks to Texas A&M Forest Service for sending these (not-so-edible) cookies to help our Texas Envirothon team prep for competition.

“We use tree cookies to study how trees respond to environmental stress like drought and shade. They help us identify growth patterns, insect damage, and fungal activity—essential skills for preparing for the Envirothon competition,” said Andrew Cortez, Team Advisor.

The Green Dragons crushed it and are your 2025 Texas Envirothon champions! Huge congratulations to the team and their advisors, Andrew Cortez and Helen Martin!
