As a program, we stand with NASP and TASP in advocating for the protection, privacy, and safety of our transgender and gender diverse students.

In light of recent legislative efforts and executive actions in states across the country that seek to discourage, criminalize, and endanger transgender and gender diverse students, as well as those threatening parents and educators who attempt to support and protect students' privacy and safety. NASP affirms our long-standing position on necessary policies and practices to support the safety and well-being of all students, including those who are transgender and gender diverse.

After careful consideration, we have decided to implement a soft opening of classes, similar to the fall 2021 semester, for the first two weeks of the spring semester (Jan. 18-30).

Our campus and offices, particularly student-facing services, will remain open. Residence halls are open and new residents will move in as planned.

Classes will start as scheduled, however, professors may change the format during the first two weeks.
