Scarborough High School-Houston ISD
Scarborough High School World Language Magnet Its first principal was W. L. Fromein. Scarborough was founded on a 21acre plot on May 27, 1968.
Part of the Houston Independent School District, Scarborough serves grades nine through twelve and has Houston ISD's Futures Academy.HistoryThe school was named after school board member George Cameron Scarborough. The school relieved Waltrip High School. Originally, the plan was for both a junior and senior high school, but it became a high school in 1979 when Clifton Middle School opened.Scarborough was named a 1986-87 National Blue Ribbon School

We are pleased to announce that Ms. Jeanette Cortez has been selected as the principal for the 2026–2027 school year. She currently serves as a leader in HISD and is excited to join the Scarborough community. We are confident in her ability to build on the strong progress already in place and continue moving the school forward.
We invite you to a meet-and-greet at Scarbrough HS on Thursday, May 21, from 4:30–5:00 p.m., where you will have the opportunity to meet and welcome Ms. Cortez. Thank you for your continued dedication to the success of Scarborough. We look forward to connecting with you on May 21st at 4:30 p.m.
