At Westside Montessori School, community voice matters.
This week, families came together in small group discussions and breakout sessions to share their experiences, perspectives, and hopes for our school’s future. These conversations are an important part of how we listen, learn, and thoughtfully shape the strategic direction of our community.
While many factors inform decision-making, we remain deeply committed to ensuring that the voices of our families, and staff are heard, valued, and reflected in the ongoing growth of our school.

Our lower elementary students proudly shared their hard work and creativity during this spring’s Academic Showcase, featuring projects centered on the continent of Africa 🌍✨
Throughout their studies, students explored the diverse biomes of Africa and learned about the unique characteristics that make each ecosystem special. The showcase was a wonderful opportunity for students to present their projects to parents, share their knowledge with confidence, and celebrate all they accomplished through their research and discovery 🦉📚💛

As part of our Poetry Month celebration in April, our Upper Elementary students brought poetry to life by sharing their work with our Primary students 📖✨
Working in pairs, one student recited the poem while the other acted it out, creating a joyful and engaging experience for their younger peers. It was a beautiful opportunity for our students to connect across divisions, building confidence, creativity, and community through the power of storytelling and performance 🎭🦉
Watching our older students lead with expression and our Primary students engage with curiosity and wonder is one of the many ways we see the strength of our Montessori community come to life 💛

Peer learning is one of the many beautiful aspects of the Montessori classroom ✨
In our Primary environment, children learn not only from their guides, but from one another. Through observation, collaboration, and shared discovery, older students naturally model lessons while younger students build confidence and curiosity alongside their peers 🌱📚
These meaningful moments of connection help foster independence, leadership, and a lifelong love of learning 🦉💚

📚✨ Our lower elementary students had a magical publishing party! They wrote their very own stories and proudly shared them with parents and friends. The auditorium was transformed into a cozy library, filled with imagination, laughter, and the joy of reading. So proud of our young authors for bringing their stories to life! 🖋️💛
