Our Primary Curriculum Night brought families into the classroom for a closer look at the thoughtful learning experiences that shape our Primary program.

This year, we are exploring the Montessori math curriculum, giving parents an opportunity to experience the materials and see how mathematical concepts unfold from concrete, hands-on experiences into deeper understanding. 🔢🌱

Thank you to all the parents who joined us, engaged with our Primary teachers, and took the time to learn more about the Montessori approach to mathematics. Your curiosity and involvement make our school community stronger. 💛

We love sharing a glimpse into the purposeful work happening in our Primary classrooms and the many ways our environment helps children build confidence, independence, and a strong foundation for lifelong learning. 🦉✨

We’re celebrating 25 years of Ms. Silvia at Westside Montessori School! 💛🦉

Ms. Silvia has supported students in the classroom and, today, continues to make a meaningful difference as a Primary After Care Assistant. Her warmth, patience, and genuine care create a welcoming environment where our students feel supported and connected beyond the school day.

Today, our students across campus celebrated the birthday of Dr. Maria Montessori, honoring the remarkable woman whose vision continues to shape Montessori education around the world.

Through stories, timelines, reflection, and their own Montessori work, our students had the opportunity to learn more about her life and reflect on the learning experiences that make their own journeys unique. 🦉🌱

Our Primary classrooms are thoughtfully prepared for children to explore, discover, and grow with purpose. Children choose meaningful work, repeat activities as they build mastery, and learn to trust themselves along the way. 💛

They learn to care for their environment, concentrate on their work, solve problems, and take pride in what they can accomplish independently. These are the moments that make our Primary classrooms so special. 🌿🦉

🌱 Big learning begins with little hands. Everyday activities are opportunities for discovery, independence, and growth. From caring for the classroom and practicing practical life skills to exploring shapes, colors, movement, and problem-solving, our youngest learners are constantly building confidence through hands-on experiences.

Each carefully prepared activity invites children to choose, explore, repeat, and discover at their own pace. What may look like a simple puzzle, a painting activity, or sweeping the floor is helping lay the foundation for concentration, coordination, independence, and a growing sense of responsibility. 💛 These early years are the beginning of something extraordinary. 🦉🌿

We’re excited to share that Westside Montessori School is hosting the first stop in AMS’s 2026 Regional Labposium series! 🎉

This collaborative learning experience will explore the relationship between Montessori education, emerging technologies, and the adult’s role in preparing children for the future.

The Labposium is open to all, with programming designed especially for educators and leaders. We look forward to welcoming participants for a day of learning, collaboration, and meaningful conversation as AMS kicks off its series of Labposium events in cities across the country.

Lower Elementary students recently embarked on one of the most exciting journeys in Montessori education: the First Great Lesson, The Story of the Universe.

Students listened to the story of the Big Bang and the students helped bring the lesson to life through engaging demonstrations. 🌎🔭

The First Great Lesson sparks wonder and curiosity, opening the door to further exploration in astronomy, physical science, geology, and beyond. We love seeing our Lower Elementary students ask big questions and discover their place in the universe! 🦉💛
