Today I want to talk about a very important important piece here that most people don’t realize. They honestly think that getting into the college of their dreams takes little to no effort. The problem I have with this is that anything that you do requires work, every time, every single time.
Today I want to talk about the three D’s to getting your dreams.

When we are hopeful about our future, what possibilities are open to us?
Head over to our blog to read a story about one of our students who worked with College Shortcuts and received $300,000 scholarships.
Here’s a sneak peek!
“Hi,
I can’t help but share this story. This student holds an incredibly special place in my heart.
I remember when he walked into my office. He was a few inches shorter (welcome to puberty), and unsure how to apply to college.
He had heard from his dermatologist that I was the secret that got her son into his dream college.
Yes, dermatologists can’t even help it but share it with their clients when they go in, because I made their life easier as a parent.
Michael was very confused about the colleges he was choosing, how to craft his essays, and how to structure his resume.
Michael was what I call the PERFECT student to work with. He was prepared even though he didn’t know what he was exactly doing. He had an immense amount of experience on his resume, and he was willing to go deep on the essay topics almost immediately.”

I remember this photo so clearly because I was trying to take my senior year photo for the yearbook.
I remember being in between trees and the photographer asking me to look away from the camera.
I remember looking at these photos and telling myself I didn’t really think I looked great in these pictures at the time. Now when I look back I think I was so beautiful but, at the time, I never really felt it.
I think all teenagers go through the struggle of having a lack of self confidence a lack of self esteem a lack of believing in yourself and I think that’s one of the major reasons I started what I do with teenagers because I had to become the mentor that I always dreamed of.
I look back at these photos and I remember that year -never having a prom date, never feeling like I fit in. Even though, I was one of the top students I felt so much stress and anxiety because so many of my counselors and teachers thought I had everything together, but in reality, I was so stressed out.
So I ask you, if you are wanting this, it is your time to really get the type of help that your child needs because you never know what’s really going on under the surface.

I know that rejection can be hard.
As someone who is been rejected hundreds of times in my life, I can tell you that rejection is one of the best ways to learn resilience.
Most people don’t know this, but I have had people reject me based on the way I look, based on my body size, based on my intelligence, based on my success, and so much more.
I know that so many students struggle with the fact that they didn’t get into their dream school. Maybe they didn’t get that dream job... or that dream person... or that dream body..
I want to tell you that if you can take rejection as a blessing, life will be so much easier.
I am living proof that rejection is a blessing in so many ways.
For example, if the man of my dreams nine years ago hadn’t rejected me, College Shortcuts would not be where it is today.
If I couldn’t handle all of the haters that comment on my ads and posts, I wouldn’t be running this company anymore. Rejection on a daily basis... especially after the scandal...
If I didn’t get rejected and bullied... I wouldn’t have the straight up grit I have today...
If all the internships that I had had in college turned into real jobs and I decided to say yes, the company I created would never exist.
If all the friends that rejected me didn’t reject me, I wouldn’t have all the incredible new people in my life.
If you are dealing with one door shutting, remember that it means that there are 1000 other doors opening.
If you do want to boost your chances of acceptance and learn how to do that... I’m your girl.
But if not... just remember...
As I always say, your loss, baby!
Share this with anyone dealing with rejection today. They may need to hear this.

We live in a world where it is so challenging to stay true to what you truly desire. There is so much noise, there are so many questions we have around what the future holds.
Today, I asked myself a simple question and these were the cards I pulled. Whenever I am at a juncture of difficulty, I like to ask the world or the universe or whatever you want to call it, for guidance.
As a female, a lot of times I doubt myself. I question if I truly deserve what I desire. I know I desire to change the world and keep serving as many people as I can. At times, I sacrifice myself and my own needs in order to ensure the lives of others.
But today I want to step in to my my power, and I want to live the life of my dreams too.
And I urge you to do the same. Is there anything in your life right now that you are questioning that you deserve? Is there anything that you are feeling uncertain about with yourself or your family? Are you feeling scared? Do you feel the fear rippling through your body a feeling rejected or not sure of what the future holds?
Share and let me know.
