I (Dana Jackson), had the honor of escorting our Jack Yates HS film students to Austin, TX for the State UIL Young Film Makers Competition at UT today. We had 2 films to win awards. We won 3rd place in 4A Documentary Film for, "The Foreman Legacy" and we won the Nobelity Social Impact Award for the film, "Twin Tragedy". Both were greats films and the kids worked so hard on them. I'm so proud of our SOC students! The guy in the picture holding the plaque is none other than George Foreman V, former World History teacher at Yates, son of boxing great George Foreman and the subject of our film, "The Foreman Legacy".
