From the classroom to the field, this group got a firsthand look at how geothermal training connects directly to real-world operations. The energy, engagement, and technical conversations throughout the week made this a great NGA session.

Special thanks to Toney Deer, Cary Lindsey, Sam Abraham, and Bhavesh Ranka, P.E. for helping make the experience valuable for everyone involved.

More geothermal training, more field exposure, and more momentum for the people helping move this industry forward.

Great week in Reno, Nevada with the National Geothermal Academy.

Last week’s NGA class brought together classroom instruction, technical discussion, and real-world geothermal operations in a way that made the learning experience especially valuable. Taking the class out to the Ormat-operated Steamboat facilities helped connect the course material directly to field conditions, drilling operations, and the practical challenges that geothermal professionals face every day.

A special thank you to Cary Lindsey for helping lead and coordinate the National Geothermal Academy experience, to Toney Deer for bringing strong well control expertise and operational perspective, and to Sam Abraham for sharing valuable insight into geothermal drilling equipment, well design, and project development considerations.

It was great to be on location with this group and to see students observe rig operations firsthand. These are the kinds of training moments that help bridge the gap between technical concepts and field ex*****on.

Well Control School is proud to support geothermal training and the continued development of professionals working in this important and growing energy sector.
