The Briarwood and Tuttle Schools will operate on the regular schedule tomorrow, Wednesday, September 2. All after-school activities and Open House will proceed as scheduled. We will continue to monitor the weather and provide updates if needed.

⚠️WEATHER UPDATE | SEPTEMBER 1

Out of an abundance of caution, all after-school activities, athletics, and aftercare are canceled today.
School will continue on its regular schedule. All students must be picked up at regular dismissal at 3:00 p.m.

We are continuing to monitor weather conditions for Wednesday and will provide updates regarding Wednesday activities as needed. Any additional updates will be communicated directly to families through text message, phone call, and email.

Today, we celebrate you. 🎓

The Class of 2026 has left a lasting mark on our community through resilience, growth, leadership, and the courage to be uniquely yourselves. The milestones you’ve reached and the growth you’ve shown have helped shape the incredible individuals you are today.

As you walk across the stage tonight, remember that your journey does not end here. The lessons you’ve learned, the friendships you’ve built, and the confidence you’ve discovered at Briarwood will go with you wherever life leads next.

Words have power, and Channing used hers to move an entire room. ✨

This spring, the Briarwood junior earned first place at the Alley Theatre’s citywide Teen Grand Slam Poetry Competition, competing against students from across Houston.

Through her award-winning spoken word piece, Channing explored the idea that kindness is not weakness, but strength. Her performance reflected courage, vulnerability, and the power of finding confidence in your voice.

“I see kindness as a strength because it does not damage, it heals.”
