It is with great sadness our family must inform you all of the passing of Jorge Garcia. He passed away late in the evening on 03/13/23 with family by his side. He was loved by so many people, and the love we have felt from you all has been so heartwarming. He was known by many as a pastor who was loving, knowledgeable, and passionate. He was known by others as a teacher who always had a funny story to tell about himself or his friends and family that entertained all. He was known as a sensei who had an incredible passion for practicing and teaching aikido. He was a husband who loved his wife Pat, a father who loved his kids Debbie & John Stephen, and taught them so much throughout their lives, and as a grandfather, who loved his grandchildren Cammi, Rane and Asher James, with all of his heart and would give them the world. But most importantly, he was known as a Christian, a man of God, and a follower of Jesus Christ. Through all of his interests, his passion for studying the word of God was always at the top of his priorities, often reading multiple books at a time, and sharing his knowledge with anyone who wanted to learn. Throughout his life, his faith never wavered, strengthening him daily even until his final day on this earth. For us, his life ended surprisingly too soon, and he will be missed more than words can describe. But through it all, our family takes a lesson from him and we use this time to strengthen our faith and trust in God's will and timing for all things.
We tried to contact as many people as we were able, but if we did not talk to you personally, please know that we did not overlook you intentionally, there were simply too many people in Jorge’s life for our small family to inform. After much discussion, the family has decided to honor Jorge’s wishes of not having a funeral/memorial service. Please instead remember him and all he taught and shared with you, and continue his legacy by passing that wisdom on to others in your life. Any condolences can be sent to 16610 Crystal View Circle, Houston TX, 77095. We thank you all for your love and support and will return calls, texts, and emails as we are able.
