First day of school is Sept. 8! With YOUR health and safety in mind, students and staff will return to classes virtually for the first six weeks of instruction. schools & offices closed Friday (2/28) due to a major water main break. To ensure the safety of students & staff, maintenance will inspect all impacted facilities across the district to make sure systems are functioning properly. Schools/offices set to reopen Mon, (3/2).

As a result of a major water main break in East Houston that has impacted multiple areas of the city, after-school activities are cancelled today (2/27). All playoff games will be held as scheduled.

To recognize HLSR’s many contributions in public education, students and teachers are invited to observe “Go Texan Day” on Friday, February 28 by dressing in their favorite Western attire and show up to work and school ready to take pictures.

Parents of G/T students, HISD is collecting formative data on the implementation of G/T services on the campus, campus program design, and parent perceptions of the G/T program and impact on their child(ren). The data will be used to ensure the district is in compliance with the new state mandates and will be used to make informed program decisions.

As an incentive for parent participation, campuses will be entered into a drawing for $500 for instructional materials. As parents submit their surveys, their child's campus is entered. One campus will be randomly selected to win!
