🦁🐘 A wild day of fun and learning! 🦒🐅

Our participants had a wonderful time exploring the zoo, seeing animals from around the world, getting some exercise, and making memories with friends. From towering giraffes to playful monkeys, there was something exciting around every corner!

Community outings like these help build social skills, encourage independence, and create opportunities to learn beyond the classroom. We had a great day and can’t wait for our next adventure! 💙💛

🌼 Mother Nature blessed our campus with an abundance of dandelions, so our participants turned them into something sweet, homemade dandelion honey! 🍯

As part of a life skills lesson, participants learned about foraging, food preparation, and trying something new. The final verdict? Participant approved! 😋

A special thank you to Ms. Abby for bringing this creative, hands-on learning experience to life. We love finding opportunities to turn everyday moments into meaningful lessons.

What a fiesta! 🎉🌮🎺

Our May Birthday Celebration was one to remember! Participants, families, staff, and guests came together for an afternoon filled with delicious Mexican food, lively mariachi music, dancing, laughter, and plenty of fun.

A huge thank you goes out to our incredible families and our art teacher, Ms. Maria, whose creativity, hard work, and attention to detail made this celebration so special. From the beautiful handmade decorations to the matching outfits for our birthday stars, every detail helped create a truly festive atmosphere.

The celebration ended with a piñata, lots of smiles, and memories that will last all year long.

Thank you to every family member who donated their time, talents, and energy to make this event possible. The love and support you show our participants is what makes the Friends of Down Syndrome community so special. ❤️

We recently had the opportunity to visit Bitty & Beau’s Coffee and it was such an amazing experience for our group. ❤️

Founded to create meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, Bitty & Beau’s is helping change the way the world sees inclusion. Their mission aligns so beautifully with what we believe in at Friends of Down Syndrome. ☕✨

Our participants had a wonderful time, and every single staff member we encountered was incredibly kind, welcoming, patient, and encouraging. You could truly feel the positivity and acceptance the moment we walked through the door.

Thank you to the entire Bitty & Beau’s team for the warm hospitality and for creating a space where everyone feels valued and included. We can’t wait to visit again!
