& What is the meaning behind your Ampersand?
My ampersand is meant to be both maximalist & intricate. I wanted to express my personal belief that less isn’t always more, and my affinity to the intricate nature of antiquities. I am a strong proponent of no more beige and half blank canvases, let’s bring back expression and color.

& What design discipline excites you most?

I enjoy both Print Design and User Interface Design. Both disciplines, while experienced differently, focus on how a viewer will engage with a design. Whether that is pages sown in a book, or pages connected in an app, intention is required to ensure those who come across that work are able to understand what the designers are trying to communicate.

& If your design style were a song, what would it be?

LP - Other People

& What design discipline excites you most?

Not because I’m good at it, but because I think it would be cool to get good at it: motion design! I would love to spend some extra time exploring motion in my personal projects.

& What’s next for you?

Probably time to travel and explore the world a bit.

& What is the meaning behind your Ampersand?

I wanted to make something that felt amorphous, because to me, it feels more versatile. Because it isn’t locked into a single shape, it can become whatever the moment needs. A symbol that connects ideas should feel that way too I think: adaptable, not rigid, and ready to fill the room rather than declare it. Some people said it reminds them of Spongebob’s Bubble-Buddy and I can get down with that too.

& What studio memory will always make you laugh?
Being convinced by my classmates that the studio is haunted.
