✨Garde Manger in action!✨
Our HCC Culinary Arts Garde Manger students had the opportunity to connect classroom techniques to the real world as they learned how charcuterie and preservation methods are elevated in fine dining kitchens.
We were honored to welcome back Chef Felipe Riccio—HCC alumni and chef partner behind some of Houston’s standout concepts, including Rosie Cannonball, Montrose Cheese & Wine, and MARCH (Michelin ⭐️)—who shared his journey and how these foundational skills continue to shape his work at the highest level.
Thank you, Chef Felipe, for taking the time to pour into our students—we are grateful for your continued support and inspiration.
Moments like this remind our students that what they’re learning today truly matters tomorrow.

Congratulations are in order!!!
On Friday, January 16, 2026, Andrea Bonner, Division Chair for Consumer Arts and Sciences successfully defended her dissertation, earning her Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Innovation from New York University's Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Innovation. Her research focused on identifying factors that affect completion rates for community college students, a critical issue in higher education today.

With over 22 years of experience in healthcare administration and 13 years in higher education, Andrea has made a significant impact at HCC. She currently leads the Fashion Design, Fashion Management and Merchandising, Culinary Arts, Pastry Arts, and Hospitality departments, working alongside faculty to enhance the educational offerings for her students. In addition to her administrative responsibilities, she co-hosts HCC’s weekly news show, Up to the Minute!, providing insights and spotlighting our students, faculty, and community partners.
Andrea is deeply committed to civic engagement, being a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, and The Links, Incorporated. She also serves on the board of the Art Colony Association and the Culinary Careers Program.
As she moves forward in her career, Andrea is eager to engage with both students and faculty to foster an environment of collaboration and innovation, ensuring continued success and progress within the college community.
