It is with the greatest sadness that we want to let people know that Barbara Atkinson passed away on New Years Day 2020.
She had a sudden and intense battle with pancreatic cancer. She was brought home and the entire family was with her, telling her how much we love her, as she took her last breath on this earth.
In addition to being the administrator of the school, she helped so many students personally and after they graduated. She continued to edit their college papers, to be a listening ear and a friend.
We are devastated by her loss and wish to let everyone know that her days at Beresford were one of the things she spoke of as we were driving to the emergency room. She said how it was some of the best times of our lives. She cared deeply for all of the students and staff.
She spent some of her last days surrounded by students and her dear friend, Ms. Debbie Weferling. We wish to thank those who came to tell her how much she meant to them.
The memorial service will be announced soon.
