Family enrollment in the Texas Education Freedom Account program opens Wednesday, Feb. 4th at 9 a.m. Applications will be submitted online at EducationFreedom.Texas.Gov.

The application is mobile-friendly, and most families can complete it in less than 15 minutes. Families will have until midnight on March 17 to apply. Families who apply anytime during the window have the exact same chance to receive an account. If more families apply than available funding allows, a lottery will be used, with eligible families prioritized as required by law. Students with disabilities are at the top of the prioritization list. Parents can learn more about prioritization, funding amounts, and program details on the website.

You Provide: The host home will provide a bedroom for the student that includes a nightstand, closet space, a place to study, and an available restroom (it can be shared with others). The host family also provides transportation back and forth to school.

We Require: a background check, ministry safe, and a home visit.

You Receive: The host home receives a monthly $750 tax free stipend per student. The stipend will help pay for family outings, the students’ breakfast and dinner during the week and all meals on weekends and days off from school. The school provides all lunches. The host family also receives the joy of making an impact and sharing cultural experiences with a student from another country.
