In this field, we often meet clients for a brief time, sharing conversations and laughter before they move on. Some return frequently, some come to celebrate special occasions, some reappear decades later, and some never return. In those short moments, we develop heart to heart connections and gentle friendships, talking about life all while the hand applies the henna.

This sweet client first came to me for henna nearly ten years ago, back when she was in a neighborhood high school, always coming with her friend until graduation. This time, she returned with her beautiful mother, a whole decade later.

It reminds me that art and connection have a way of lasting beyond time.

It warms my heart to think of all the faces and stories we have shared over the years, filling me with immense gratitude, and wonder. When was your first henna with me?

As Eid draws near, my days are filled with the happy buzz of women coming together for henna, a tradition that feels timeless and deeply soulful.

For Muslim women, adorning the hands with henna isn’t just about beauty, it’s an expression of joy, gratitude, and celebration.

Ramadan, the sacred month of fasting, reflection, and compassion, reminds us to purify our hearts, strengthen our faith, and reconnect with what truly matters. It’s a journey of patience, discipline, and devotion, a time to nourish both spirit and soul.

As the crescent moon of Eid approaches, it marks not just the end of fasting, but the beginning of renewed blessings, forgiveness, and love shared with family and community.

With only two days left until Eid, I’m so grateful for a full schedule and a full heart. Life is far too short not to celebrate every little blessing, every beautiful tradition, and every reason to smile. 🌙✨🌸

This week was all about heart connections. Getting to do henna again for my old clients and dear friends who welcomed us with so much love and open arms after 30 years!
There’s something timeless about henna here. Generations have celebrated life, beauty, and connection through the deep tradition of henna that’s a part of the heritage here.
