Houston police say a suspected burglar was shot and killed after a confrontation with residents in a neighborhood in Alief Friday.

Police say it is believed the suspect and another individual had burglarized a home earlier in the morning. They left, but returned at around 1 p.m. Several neighbors saw what was going on and confronted the suspects, eventually leading to the shooting.

The other suspect fled the scene and has not been found. The individuals involved in the shooting stayed at the scene.
