NCS Athletics Announcement

We are excited to welcome Cliff Kraner as our new Athletic Director!

A lifelong Cougar and Northland graduate, Cliff attended NCS from kindergarten through 12th grade and returns with over 30 years of experience in education, coaching, administration, and student leadership. He began his career as a science teacher and coach, working with middle school football, basketball, and track, and later served Northland for more than two decades in leadership roles including Assistant Principal, Secondary Principal, and Director of Student Activities and Alumni Affairs. He also coached varsity boys and girls basketball, reflecting his passion for developing student-athletes and building strong relationships.

Most recently, Cliff served as a Graduate Admissions Counselor at Harding University, continuing his commitment to Christian education and student development. His deep love for Northland and heart for students make this a meaningful homecoming.

We are also proud to announce the promotion of Patti Abt to Assistant Athletic Director. Patti has faithfully served Northland Christian School for 17 years and has been an integral part of the success and daily operations of the athletic department. Her dedication to our students, coaches, families, and community continues to make a lasting impact.

“Cliff’s deep love for Northland, combined with his decades of experience in education and leadership, make him uniquely suited to lead our athletic department,” said Roger Elswick, Head of School. “We are also thrilled to recognize Patti Abt’s years of faithful service with this well-deserved promotion. Together, Cliff and Patti will provide strong leadership for Northland Athletics as we continue building programs that honor Christ and serve our students with excellence.”

Celebrating the class of 2026 and the long-runners from Northland’s 44th graduating class! Students from the class of 2026 are attending Baylor, Texas A&M, Loyola, UCLA, Auburn, Wake Forest, and George Washington University among many others. We are proud to celebrate their achievements and excited to see how God uses them for His good.
