Today we celebrated the Feast of St. Pius X, Pope and Dominican Saint, with a touching Liturgy and a fun activity in honor of our Patron. Students enjoyed lunch and fellowship in the courtyard with our Campus Ministry. 

Pope St. Pius X, a great lover of the Holy Eucharist and a tireless shepherd of souls, reminded the Church of the importance of bringing Christ to the hearts of the young. His desire was simple and profound: “To restore all things in Christ.”

Prayer - Study - Community - Preaching. As Dominicans, we receive this mission with joy and commit to share the Dominican charism with love.

It may be raining outside, but inside SPX, it is all sunshine, smiles and Candyland fun! 🌈🍬

The SPX Cheerleaders and Pantherettes welcomed young campers for an unforgettable Cheer and Dance Mini-Camp, where they learned new cheers, chants, dances and beginner stunts while building confidence and making new friends.

From colorful Candyland decorations and sweet treats to high-energy instruction and Panther spirit, every corner of campus is filled with excitement. Our student leaders are working hard in mentoring the next generation and creating an experience these campers won't soon forget.

Thank you to our SPX Cheerleaders, Pantherettes, volunteers and coaches for making this year's camp such a sweet success. We love to see these future Panthers on campus! 🧡🖤

With the FIFA World Cup excitement building and Houston welcoming fans from around the globe, we're celebrating a remarkable member of the St. Pius X family whose own soccer journey reached the international stage.

Before serving as our Dean of Student Life, Suzie Grech represented Spain as the starting goalkeeper for both the Under-18 and Senior Women's National Teams from 1998-2002. Thanks to her father's roots in Mallorca, she proudly wore the Spanish crest while competing in World Cup qualifying matches and the UEFA Women's Under-19 Championship, where her team earned a silver medal.

Even more impressive, Suzie accomplished this while playing high school soccer and competing for the University of Michigan, adding semi-professional experience during the summers. A goalkeeper since the age of 12, she credits her grandfather, Satur Grech, a professional player and coach in Spain for more than 30 years, as one of her greatest inspirations, alongside legendary Danish goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel.

Today, the same leadership, resilience and competitive spirit that carried her onto the international stage are on display every day as she mentors and guides our Panthers.

We're proud to call Coach Grech one of our own.
