As a teacher, I have 150 children each year that I build relationships with. Losing any of them devastates me to my core…

I received a call today informing me that I lost another one of my students to senseless gun violence…

I am angry…
I am tired…
I am hurting…

We need change in Houston and the surrounding areas.
We need to protect ALL of our children and stop looking at it as a “their” problem!

My initial reaction is to scream and place blame on the criminal justice department, the educational department, the parents, the environment….

But in actuality it’s a system failure.

A system that need a complete overhaul.

I am angry…
I am tired…
I am hurting…
