Congrats to Bianca Mabute-Louie for successfully defending her thesis! Bianca’s research focuses on how Asian American and Latino activists in Texas build a collective identity and local power.

Congratulations to Kieran Turner for successfully defending their thesis! Their research focuses on transgender Texans and the power of place under hostile legislation.

Congratulations to Xiaorui Zhang for successfully defending her thesis! Her research explores sinophobia and involves a comparative study of Chinese immigration in Japan and the United States.

Congratulations to Madeline Smith-Johnson on their successful thesis defense! Their research examines how state context and social structure shape trans and cis gender health. They explore heterosexism and its fundamental causes.

Come join us to celebrate the incredible projects by students in Making an Exoneree! Throughout this semester, these students investigated real wrongful conviction cases to create powerful documentaries and advocacy campaigns. This film screening will take place on Monday, April 27 from 5-7pm in Sewall Hall room 301.
