Miles Ahead Scholars Program

At Miles Ahead Scholars, we believe that exposure is the bridge to opportunity. Jamal B.’s journey from to the Forty Acres is a powerful reminder of what happens when you “shoot for the stars.”

During his time as a scholar, summer business camps and campus visits turned a distant dream into a tangible reality. Today, Jamal is a first-year student at McCombs School of Business, where he is already leading as an ambassador for the Heman Sweatt Center for Black Males and a committee member in the Black Business Student Association.

Jamal’s advice to the next generation? “Stop waiting.”

By embracing every opportunity early, Jamal secured a full-ride scholarship and recently landed an offer for the Launch Finance Development Experience for Summer 2027!

We are incredibly proud of Jamal’s drive to bring his finance expertise back to communities like Trinity Gardens, creating access for those coming up behind him. A special shoutout to Mr. Beeks for seeing that potential early on and guiding Jamal toward his full-ride success.

At Miles Ahead Scholars, we believe that you can’t be what you can’t see. Michael V.’s story is a testament to that mission.

During his time as a scholar, Michael participated in an office visit to Vitol Inc. That exposure to the oil and gas industry helped him visualize his future and set a high bar for his professional aspirations. Today, Michael is a student at Trinity University, majoring in Accounting and Finance with a clear goal: obtaining his CPA and joining a Big 4 firm.

We are incredibly proud of Michael’s focus and thankful for the mentorship provided by Mr. Cruz and the entire MAS team in helping our scholars navigate the complexities of college admissions and financial aid.
