You can enjoy your life and have a well rested child! 💫

One of the most common questions I hear from parents, considering sleep training is if they will be able to still enjoy nights out, travel, and socializing, while prioritizing sleep. My answer is always absolutely!

sleep training and are two weeks together might feel restrictive but that’s because creating new habits and overcoming old ones is difficult. It takes a commitment, time, consistency and patience. But as your child becomes a super sleeper and you are maintaining those skills, you will find it’s much easier to enjoy life than it was with an overtired baby. Together we will discuss how to handle the ups and downs of life, as well as living the lifestyle that you’ve always wanted with your child.

if you are feeling nap trapped, or that you can enjoy the things that you want to because sleep feels like such a nightmare. Then please reach out as there is hope that I can help! 😴

You are free to be you, but will always remain tethered to my heart. Conceiving you took science, carrying you took time, birthing you took me apart but more ‘together’ than I had been before, our first year took me learning patience, our second took everything I had but I gave all that I thought I couldn’t.. and now as we celebrate another birthday of yours I know for sure how my arms were made to hold you, and my face was made to smile upon you. My back is strong to carry you, and my heart is full of love for you. I was made for this and made for you. No matter how big and strong you become, or weak and tired I feel, you can never outgrow my love for you and I will always have more to give…my son you are my everything and my always, happy birthday to us ♥️

Thumb-sucking... yes 👍 or no 👎 ?

Let's talk about it!

Thumb-sucking can be a great way for babies to self-soothe, as they have natural rooting and sucking reflexes. At WeeSleep, we neither encourage nor discourage it for sleep purposes, as it is really up to the baby!

Some parents are concerned their baby may become a thumb sucker if they no longer have a pacifier. Most babies do not start thumb-sucking in replacement of a pacifier; if they do, it can still be a great way to soothe. 🤍

When your little one is older, thumb-sucking may impact development, and you'll eventually want to teach them to find other ways to settle.

Love it or hate it, the pacifier is one of the most common concerns of parents getting started. So why would I suggest replacing it with another comfort.

Although the ‘binky’ can be an amazing soothing tool for babies, there are many reasons you may want to consider ditching it as your child passes the newborn phase, and you are struggling with sleep. swipe to see some of those reasons and book a call with me if you want to know more or if you’re struggling with sleep, pacifier or not! 😴

As many of my clients can attest, the GRO Clock or a ready-to-wake clock is a fantastic tool when working with older toddlers. ⏰

GRO clocks are designed to help toddlers and preschoolers understand when it’s time to get out of bed. And, when used correctly, it will encourage your early riser to get some extra shuteye.

How does it work? When your child goes to bed, set the clock to ‘wake up’ at a specific time. When your child should be sleeping, the face of the clock will have a blue star on it. When it’s their ‘wake up’ time, the star turns into a yellow sun. ☀️ It’s a great visual way to explain time to children!

Motherhood can be exhausting, demanding, beautiful and rewarding all at the same time. But what makes it even harder is if nobody’s sleeping.

I have posted a lot lately about self-care and trying to take more time for myself to feel healthy and rest is a big part of that.

We always say that we would die for our children or do anything for them, but would we live for them too? To do hard things and make big changes to get us to a place we have the energy for the good stuff?

To me sleep coaching can be absolutely life-changing for families and I have heard of time and time again at the end of programs how much better parents and children feel.

How they feel human again, how they’re connecting with their partner, how they weren’t exhausted every single day struggling to survive….

This is what you can have if you’re willing to put in the work and trust the process.

Let’s do it together, let’s help you live your best life for them. ♥️

Is a sleep sack part of your little one's bedtime routine? 💤

Most parents use swaddles to start; however, once a baby shows signs of rolling over on their own (which can be as early as two months), the swaddle is no longer the safest option.

Around 2-4 months old is when infants tend to start attempting to roll onto their stomachs. If they do this while in a swaddle, they will be unable to use their arms to roll back, which increases the chance of suffocation. This is where sleep sacks come in handy!

If a sleep sack isn't part of your baby's night routine, swipe through and save this post for 6 reasons you might want to consider incorporating one.

1. Little feet and toes won't get caught in the crib rails.
2. It makes the transition from a swaddle and soother easier on the baby.
3. It signals to your little one that it's time to sleep.
4. It keeps your baby feeling warm, cozy, secure, and safe.
5. It reduces the risk of suffocation while they sleep.
6. It helps to prevent your child from climbing out of the crib.

Do you have a solid bedtime routine for your little one? If not, it’s never too late to start.

A consistent bedtime routine is key to ensuring your baby sleeps well overnight. We know that even tiny babies can recognize patterns of behaviour, and going through the same steps each night will signal to your little one that a long stretch of sleep is coming.

You can be sleeping in 10 days or less! 🤍

Is my white noise machine a sleep prop?

It's not! Here's why! ⬇️

A sleep prop is something you need to give your baby at night to put them back to sleep, like rubbing their back, putting a lost pacifier back into their mouth, rocking your baby, or feeding.

A white noise machine is there to block out any noise that could cause your child to wake up. It will help lull them back to sleep if they have a night waking (instead of straining to hear what else is happening in the home).

It's true what they say; babies have FOMO (fear of missing out), so using a white noise machine will help your little one focus on sleep.
