Happy National Trails Day! 🌲🥾

At The Woods Project, the trail is our classroom. It’s where our students discover their strength, build lifelong friendships, and connect with the world around them. Today, we celebrate the paths that lead us to new adventures and the volunteers who help us get there.

See you out there! ✨

Becoming a strong leader, one bead at a time 🪢

Every night during our summer trips, The Woods Project hosts a traditional bead ceremony honoring the accomplishments and resilience of our students. With each bead comes great honor, symbolizing our students' stories, growth and community.

Nothing beats the view from the top. Whether it’s Olympic National Park, Breckenridge, Donner Pass or anywhere the trail leads to, our students make the most of each moment and fully immerse themselves in the gorgeous scenery. The climb may be tough, but the views always make it worth it.

What could be more exciting than exploring a new place? Hiking through the area with your peers! Our students enjoy backpacking through the woods and taking a look at the serene nature that surrounds them. You can't get an experience like this in Houston!

What skills do our students learn on our trips? Adaptability. Perseverance. Curiosity.

When our students embark on our summer trips, they embrace new challenges and learn a lot about themselves in the process, becoming well-prepared with the social and emotional skills needed for success.
