Reed and I have been working together for about 4.5 years and have celebrated so many wins together. From winning a big writing contest, becoming Vice President of his class, and now making the varsity soccer team as a freshman, Reed has never seized to amaze me. These past couple of months he's worked hard keep good grades and has improved with his ability to manage his own busy schedule. 🙌🏼

When I asked Reed what he's most proud of he mentioned he mentioned his soccer skills, ability to build Lego sets, and how his grades have improved since last semester. ⚽

When I asked CJ what he was most proud of he mentioned his performance in baseball, his good grades, and being able to keep a good mood through his busy schedule. 📚

I have had the pleasure of working with CJ for the past four years and he is one of the most hardworking students I know. CJ is taking all AP classes and has managed to keep straight As throughout his entire high school career. Last month he made the high school baseball team, and last week he was promoted to the varsity team! ⚾

CJ truly is an inspiration to me and I am so unbelievably proud of what he has been able to accomplish so far. ✨

Congratulations to January’s student of the month, Nora! 🥳🙌🏽💛

Nora always shows up to our live Spanish lessons with a big smile on her face and within seconds greets me with, “¡Hola Profe Nikki! ¿Cómo estás?” ☺️

Not only has Nora been working hard during our live lessons, she’s also been practicing at home! She’s made her own flashcards, has practiced singing and dancing to her Spanish songs, and has even gone on scavenger hunts to find her Spanish vocabulary words around her neighborhood! 👩🏼‍🏫✨

When I asked Nora what she is proud of she mentioned her baby brother, that she is a good student, that she can build forts by herself, and how she can ride her bike really fast without training wheels! 🫶🏽👶🏼🚲

Introducing JAMES, our final Student of the Month for 2025!

James finished the semester strong with great grades and zero missing assignments. He worked hard to navigate the new WIVA platform and showed big improvement in his writing and research skills this year.

When I asked James what he is most proud of, he shared that he is really good at drawing birds and other things, and he is also proud of earning strong grades in school.

🎉 Help me congratulate Georgia, November’s Student of the Month! 🤗

📒 This past month, Georgia committed to using her agenda every single day to keep track of assignments and tests. In the past, she would occasionally miss assignments because she’d partially complete them and forget to turn them in. But in November? She stayed consistent, stayed organized, and only had one missing assignment pop up all month! Her grades are looking amazing, and I’m so proud of how hard she’s been working this school year.

⚽ Not only is she crushing it academically, she’s also proud of the progress she’s made in soccer, and she’s growing in confidence and learning how to stand up for herself. That growth matters just as much as the grades!

👩🏼‍🏫 When you have a learning coach on your team, we don’t just focus on academics, we strengthen important executive functioning skills that support students in and out of the classroom.

Not only is Bri thriving academically, she is one of the most responsible middle schoolers I know. When she noticed she had a missing assignment from when she was absent, she immediately reached out to her teacher to make up the work. Congratulations on such a strong start to the school year Bri! Help me congratulate PHARAOH, September's student of the month!

Pharaoh and I have been working together for almost two months now, and I am oh so proud of him for starting this school year off strong! Each day we meet, Pharaoh logs on for class right on time and greets me with a big smile and a cheerful “Hi, Ms. Nikki!” 💻

Even with changes to the CAVA platform this year, Pharaoh was quick to figure things out and adapt. He’s been doing an excellent job completing his tasks on time and is getting so much better at recognizing when he needs help. Such an important skill for young learners!🌟

When I asked Pharaoh what he’s most proud of, he told me that he’s a good listener, has great writing skills, and is great at drawing. I couldn’t agree more! 😊🎨

It’s that time of year again! 👩🏼‍🏫 🏫

Not every child feels excited about going back to school, and that’s ok. For some, the new school year can bring anxiety and uncertainty. But just like we practice our math or reading, we can practice building confidence too! ✨

Daily affirmations like, “I am confident and brave,” can make a big difference in how a student feels about facing new challenges. Let’s remind our kids that they are capable and strong, and together, we can support them every step of the way. 🙌🏽

Y’all, we haven’t even finished the first week of school yet and we’re already celebrating wins!

Bri greeted me with a big grin on Wednesday and said, “GUESS WHAT!” She told me about what happened in math class earlier that day, and I was so so proud of her. Better yet, she was SO SO proud of herself!

Seeing my students shine and radiant confidence brings me so much joy and I feel so honored to be in Bri’s corner cheering her on. ✨

PS. She also earned a new stripe on her taekwondo belt this week 🥹
