I’m challenging myself to post once a week on Instagram and/or YouTube this summer, and this week I recorded solo performances of two intermediate etudes that are frequently assigned for auditions with middle schoolers. Howdy everyone! I’m excited to share that I have completed work on a small collection of essential exercises I use both in my personal practice and with students for tone and technique. It is now available for purchase on Amazon for $9, plus any applicable taxes and shipping costs (free shipping with prime). Current students can get a copy from me in person for a reduced fee.

This book is intended to be a daily practice book for my private flute students, and anyone else who feels they might benefit. It is a collection of warm ups and exercises for tone and technique that I have used in my own practice for years, and which have proven useful to myself and others.

I made a quick charcuterie board for a concert reception tonight at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church on N Ethridge. Concert is at 7 PM and features many of the musicians of St. Mary’s performing a variety of Christmas pieces. Come check it out and see me play duets with a student, as well as in a trio with piano and cello.

Super proud of one of my private students, Jaliyah, for making it into region band! I feel honored to get to work with such a talented young musician, and I look forward to seeing what else she can accomplish. Great things are happening in Klein Intermediate Band!

Congrats to Jaliyah and Bryan for making the Middle School Region 9 Band! From what we can tell the first time in many years the Klein Intermediate Band has had 2 students make it! Congrats! Way to make us proud!
