Stratford Mens Golf

Congratulations to seniors, Noah Bahrami, Barton Smith, Grady Ash, Cooper Cashman, Wes Hall and Harrison Enszer, on earning honors from the Texas High School Coaches Association Academic All-State Team!

Congratulations to Barton Smith for representing the Stratford golf team at regionals. Barton posted 74 both days to finish 11th place overall and is an alternate for the state tournament. We are very proud of his effort at regionals.

The 13 boys representing Stratford at the district tournament were Grady Ash, Noah Bahrami, Cooper Cashman, Luke Connally, Cameron DeLaat, Harrison Enszer, Wes Hall, Yuhiko Ikoma, Tyler Kent, Jake Kurtin, Jackson Lisle, Liam Maglalang, and Barton Smith.

Day 1 saw the Spartans trail by 3 and 9 strokes and found them in 3rd and 4th place.
Day 2 saw the Spartans battle back and take a lead heading to the back 9, before falling short of getting a team qualified for regionals. Barton Smith qualified as an individual placing 3rd overall.

Stratford placed 4 on the all district team. They were Barton Smith, Noah Bahrami, Grady Ash, and Harrison Enszer.

On Friday January 23rd the team of Grady Ash ( Sr), Cooper Cashman( SR), Harrison Enzer( SR.), Wes Hall ( Sr), and Tyler Kent( JR) represented the Spartan at Greatwood golf course to play in the Tyler Milliken invitational hosted by Clements H.S. The tournament was originally scheduled to be a two-day tournament. The Spartans came out with a sense of urgency. The team finished 2nd overall shooting a very good team score of 307. Grad Ash Posted a score of even par 72 to finish 2nd overall. All 5 Spartans were under 80 and finished in the top 15 individually.

On Monday, January 19th and Tuesday January 20th the team of Noah Bahrami(SR), Yuhiko (Luke) Ikoma ( Fr), Jackson Lisle (JR), Liam Maglalang( Soph), and Barton Smith (SR) represented Stratford in the two-day Clear Springs invitational held at Bay Oaks C.C. and Gus Wortham G.C. On day one the Spartans charged out to a 13-stroke league, posting a team total and season low of a 296. Noah Bahrami posted a score of 2 under par and Luke Ikoma even par the lead the way. On the second day at Gus the team maintained its lead and won the tournament. The second Noah posted a 73 and Barton Smith and Jackson Lisle both carded a 76. Noah finished 2nd, Jackson Lisle finished 5th and Luke Ikoma finished 6th overall.

Another great day for the Stratford golf program. The team of Charlie Dina, Tyler Kent, Ty Lawrence, Jackson Lisle, and Harry Richardson battle the wind, the cold, and a very tough course to finish first overall at the Katy Fall invitational at Falcon Pointe. Jackson Lisle shot a 77 to finish tied for 2nd and Tyler Kent shot a 76 to win the tournament.

Friday and Saturday of last week the team of Christian Arndt(SOPH), Noah Bahrami(SR), Yuhiko Ikoma(FR), Wes Hall(SR), and Barton Smith(SR) played in the prestigious Dick Harmon invitational at The Golf Club of Houston. On the first day Yuhiko posted a tournament best score of even Par 72. The team sat in 2nd place behind state qualifying Grand Oaks. On the 2nd day Noah Bahrami lead the Spartans with a 73 and 3 over for the 36 hole tournament, finishing 2nd overall. The team finished 2nd overall as well.

Last week was big week for the Stratford Boys Golf Team.

November 3 our Spartans Christian Arndt(Soph), Luca D’Amico(JR.), Cameron DeLaat(FR), Tyler Kent(JR), and Liam Maglalng(Soph) represented Stratford at the Jordan Warriors fall invitational at Willow Creek Golf course. The team posted a stellar 310 score to finish 1st place out 20 teams. Tyler Kent shot a 74 which was good enough to finish 3rd overall. Cameron Delaat, and Liam Maglalang both shot 77s to lead the way.

Over the weekend our Spartans travelled to the Wyndham resort in Many, Louisiana to play in the Clear Creek invitational. Competing against several regional qualifying teams from last year, the Spartans jumped out the 1st day to a 7-stroke lead over Ridge Point H.S. The second day they struggled a bit on some very tough pin positions and hard to read greens. They ended the tournament 2ndoverall. The weekend was a great showing. The team was made up of Grady Ash, Noah Bahrami, Cooper Cashman, Harrison Enzer, and Barton Smith. Noah Bahrami won the individual posting a score of 4 over on the weekend and Barton Smith finished tied for 6th. Over-all it was a great weekend to be a Spartan.

The team of Grady Ash, Noah Bahrami, Cooper Cashman, Harrison Enzer, and Barton Smith represented Stratford at the Katy Jorand H.S. invitational at Cypresswood Traditions course. The tournament was a one day, thirty-six-hole tournament. The players battle the tough competition and fatigue all day to end up finish second only behind state qualifier Jordan H.S in this 19-team tournament. Cooper Cashman lead the way with rounds of 77 and 80. Grady as carded rounds of 79 and 79. These players will be playing at Cypress Bend C.C. in Many Louisiana next weekend.
