Our 7th Grade AM Book Club is building a strong literacy culture Tuesday and Wednesday mornings! They are currently exploring "Tinker Bell" and the art of Fairy Tale Origin stories. We're raising readers and future authors!

What a night! Thanks to all the families who joined our Fall Open House. We loved seeing you at the Title I meeting, our public meeting about the school's journey, and getting your questions answered on HAC and BOY MAP scores. It was a true community event!

Open House is almost here! Join us this tomorrow, September 25th from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm for an evening of information, breakout sessions, and campus updates! We will also conduct our Fall Title I presentation, share information about beginning of year assessment results, and provide Home Access Center (HAC) trainings on monitoring grades and attendance. We hope to see you there!

It was a busy and productive September here at HMS! We're celebrating the hard work of our students, staff, and community.

Our Family and Community Engagement (FACE) Committee had a fantastic meeting to set goals for the year, and they successfully updated our School-Parent Compact and Parent & Family Engagement Policy Brochure for the 2025-2026 school year. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed their valuable insights!

In the classroom, our 6th Grade ELA team is diving deep into character development while reading Bud, Not Buddy. Students are learning how and why characters respond to challenges and are using specific evidence from the text to support their interpretations. This approach is not only boosting their reading comprehension but also teaching them critical analytical skills.

On the field and court, our student-athletes showed incredible dedication! We're so proud of our volleyball and football teams for their effort in their first games of the season. They're not only playing hard but also keeping up with their academics, showing what it means to be a well-rounded student.

Finally, we'd like to highlight the Hoffman Chess Club! Over a dozen students are meeting after school every Thursday to sharpen their minds, practice strategy, and learn good sportsmanship. A big thank you to Mr. Henry and co-sponsors for leading this group.

Our students have earned it! We're refilling our Book Vending Machine today, stocked with new books for their hard-earned coins. It's awesome to see the great behavior, excitement for reading, and a job well done during the first three (3) weeks!
