History majors at UH get hands-on faculty mentorship! The Department of History at UH celebrates our dedicated faculty researchers and mentors. One of the key features of a History degree is independent research, which allows students to create new knowledge. Check out what History Major A'viyon Robinson (Class of 2027) and Dr. Debbie Harwell (PhD 2018) have to say about the difference faculty mentorship makes! https://www.uh.edu/class/history/undergraduate/

We are so proud of the impact our Postdoc Research & Teaching Fellow Dr. Ali Yildirim is having across the UH campus!
An update from CAS Associate Fellow Ali Yildirim:
"Absolutely honored to welcome Professor Nadera Shalhoub-Kevorkian to my Q***r Theory class today as part of her three-day visit at UH. Shout out to the Center for Arab Studies for making this possible. Our discussion revolved around settler colonial violence, embodiment, affect, ethics and what it means to engage in feminist and q***r theory in the midst of ongoing wars and genocides. My students showed up with curiosity, care, and respect. One student even brought their mother to class! Such a good reminder of how these conversations can travel beyond the classroom. Today’s session felt like a gift as well as a hope in this brutal world."
