Sometimes a man has to sleep on the couch in his friends RV and eat a few tacos to remind himself that he’s not alone. In prison my friend would make contraband tacos after a long day of working for free in the Furniture Factory. I’m just glad we’re free now, just a couple of legal amigos.

The tree line behind the Conroe Club AA meeting is amazing. To be sober on a beautiful day is also amazing. If you are struggling with drug and alcohol addiction, there is a better way. The most important person at these meetings are the newcomers. There is hot coffee and people who understand and listen.

Today I had to make a difficult decision. I am far from perfect. It pains me. I am 45 years old now. I just want to be loved, appreciated and respected. I pray that God protects me and heals my wounded heart.
