Did you know On average, children lose one month's worth of the knowledge they have gained during the academic year each summer. Summer Tutoring is a great resource to have for scholars to help reduce the summer slide. Here at TWP Private Tutoring we want to ensure that scholars retain the information they’ve learned in the recent school year and are ready to tackle new concepts for their next grade level! Welcome our newest edition to the TWP family ♥️. Meet Mr. Carson who is in the 2nd grade! He is an excited learner and enjoys learning new skills! We will be helping Carson with reading and math! Currently, we are working on helping Carson with his comprehension and retaining information.
Within a month Carson has shown so much improvement and has received positive feedback from teachers since he’s been with TWP! We are so happy to have Carson aboard and to help him grow socially and academically !!

Good Morning and Happy Tutor Tip Tuesday !!!

Learning the difference between short I and E can be difficult for scholars to understand. Our scholar DeWayne and I have been working on how to distinguish between the two vowels I and E sounds. Here are some tips on how to help your scholar learn the difference between short E and short I sounds!
- Pronounce the spelling: When working on Short vowels it is important that your pronounce your work clearly so that the student can hear the vowel sounds of the word.
- Watch your mouth: Have your scholar watch your mouth as you make /I/ and /E/. The mouth should be open taller when you say the short E sound than when you say the short I sound .
- Have Scholars Repeat Dictated Word Back to you.

I would like to give a huge shout out to our scholar Billy! I am so proud of Billy on how much he has progressed in reading! Billy has moved from reading easy reader books to now reading on his grade level! He has started reading Step Into Reading Books, Step Into Reading Books promote and help emergent leaders to develop reading skills and are essential for implementing the common core state standards such as : Biography,History,Science,Sports, and general nonfiction.
Way to go Billy and keep up the good work !!!!
