Sheldon ISD is honored to open up the C.E. King High School Performing Arts Center to you and your choirs on Monday, May 18, 2026, for an end of year festival performance at our 3rd Annual King Music Festival! We offer you a low-pressure, positive performance experience in our beautiful auditorium; written and verbal comments from experienced educator-adjudicators; a professional audio recording; and an opportunity to earn best in class and festival grand champion awards - all for a competitive flat entry fee of $350 for your first choir and $150 for each additional choir from your campus.

If you are interested in registering for the King Music Festival, please complete this application - ONE APPLICATION FOR EACH PARTICIPATING CHOIR. Applications are due by April 1, 2026; a nonrefundable deposit of at least $100 per ensemble is due by April 15, 2026; and final payment is due at the time of your performance (though you may pay all at once in advance). Performance times will be booked on a first-come-first-serve basis based on the receipt of your application and deposit, and while we will do our best to accommodate requests, we reserve the right to schedule choirs according to various logistical needs.

Available classes of entry will include Elementary Choir, Middle School Beginning Choir, Middle School Choir Open Class, Middle School Choir Varsity Class, High School Choir Open Class, and High School Choir Varsity Class, though we reserve the right to combine or expand classes based on number of entries. Children's Choirs, Treble Choirs, Tenor/Bass Choirs, or Mixed Choirs are all welcome to enter/perform, though separate award classes for each ensemble voice will only be created if the number of entries warrants such. Show Choirs are welcome to enter/perform but will need to enter as a Varsity Choir at whichever grade-level is appropriate, and like the above ensemble types, a separate award class for Show Choirs will only be created if the number of entries warrants such.

Choirs may perform 2 or 3 pieces (which do not have to come from the PML, nor from any particular composers or genres, but you do have to have 3 original scores of each piece for judges) for up to 15 minutes on stage. You will receive a 15-minute clinic immediately following your performance from one our adjudicator-clinicians: BJ Douglas, Amy Lewis, Amy Moore, and Eddie Quaid.

If you have any questions, you are welcome to reach out to me at the contact information below. We are happy to provide this performance opportunity for you, and we look forward to seeing and hearing your successes!

For many of our King Choir students, preparation for auditions happened as early as May 2025. Throughout this school year, these three students demonstrated just how much hard work and dedication it takes to study and perfect their audition music.

Major congratulations to Nicholas Montelongo (11), Giovanni Silva (11), and Thomas Reyes (12) for making it all the way to the final round of auditions and represent King Choir at the state level of competition!!! We are so proud of all their hard work! This year was the first year that C.E. King High School has brought 3 students to Area auditions!

Extra congratulations to Nicholas for placing 7th chair in the Tenor-Bass All-State Choir and Thomas for placing 1ST CHAIR in the Mixed All-State Choir!!!! These singers competed with 19 other top students in their voice part for a place in one of the All-State Choirs. This opportunity allows them to sing with some of the best high school musicians in the state of Texas.

We are extremely proud of all of their individual journeys this year, and we can't wait to see more of our students accomplish their musical goals in the years to come!!!!πŸŽΆπŸ«ΆπŸ’™πŸ‘‘πŸ•Ά

These three students have less than a week before they represent King Choir at Area Auditions this upcoming Saturday! Their many months of hard work has led them to this final round of auditions. Wish them the best of luck as they polish their music this week!
