Wise words from a great lady. Thanks Vicki! π
Freedom and Independence. For those women who have trained with me, you may remember a discussion we have had that learning how to protect yourself endows you with not only a sense of freedom and independence but a reality of freedom and independence. When on your own, you know you can put up a good fight for yourself but you won't shun help when it arrives. You know that danger can lurk anywhere around you, but it won't keeping you from going about your business. That has been part of our American culture as far back as the Massachusetts Bay Colony, where my great-grandmother many times back first arrived from England in 1632, 144 years before the first Independence Day. At that time, anyone going more than a mile from their small scattered communities was mandated to have a means of protection for themself. Never forget we continue to carry that heritage of independence and courage for ourselves from those earliest colonists in this land which became, the United States of America! Happy 4th!
