We are officially inviting all High school student who learn Mandarin in the Greater Houston area to join the 2026 Mandarin Language Speech Contest! This is your stage to shine and celebrate your language journey.
To ensure a fair and fun experience, the contest is divided into three proficiency levels:
✨ Beginner: Poetry Recitation (for those with 3 years of study)
This event is more than a competition, it’s a wonderful opportunity for students to connect, share their voices, and be inspired by the beauty of the Mandarin language.

We are happy to share the latest issue of our magazine with you! In this issue, we explore two interesting topics: Online Class and Chiang Ku.

Online Class
In the first article, you will read a conversation between two college students talking about their classes for the new semester. They discuss the differences between online and in-person classes, as well as some funny experiences with cameras and microphones. It’s a great way to learn useful Mandarin vocabulary for school and everyday conversations.

Chiang Ku
We also introduce Chiang Ku, a traditional custom during Taiwan’s Ghost Festival. You will learn about the exciting competition of climbing tall, slippery poles to grab the flag at the top, as well as the history and meaning behind this unique tradition.
