We all have a Divine Calling or Spiritual Purpose that our soul was sent here to accomplish.

Have you felt the urge? God’s whisper? A strong nudge?

There has been a lot of extraneous noise over the past 18 months that has distracted us and potentially even caused some of us to lose sight of what we are really called to do while we are here. ⚡️

You can only deny the ache for so long.

The call will only become louder until you give it the attention it is demanding; you may have already even noticed that it’s harder to ignore it than to answer it.

Time to stop Running to Stand Still.

I have been thinking a lot lately about connection and how the last 18 months has impacted connectivity in our lives with those we care about. 🦋

I listened to a great podcast today with and that defined connection this way:

“Connection is the energy that is created between people when they feel seen, heard and valued, and they can give and receive without judgment.” ❤️

We are all “neurologically hard-wired for love, connection and belonging; it’s in our DNA”.

Connection can be broken down even more simplistically into this one statement:

“Do I matter and does what I say mean anything to you?”

We all have our preferred ways of connecting with ourselves, others and nature. Each one of these is critical to our mental, emotional, psychological and physical well-being.

How do you continue staying connected with those you care about , particularly over the past year ??? 👯‍♀️🙌🏻🌲🥰

You are worthy of loving and being loved.

The armor that we chose to put on at a very young age to navigate our childhood, teenage years, early adulthood and parenting in our 30’s (Alpha parenting, as Brené Brown] calls it) served a purpose at the time.

It was a mechanism, or solution, as we call it in , that we put on that seemed to serve us well at the time.

However, as we grow closer to middle-age, (35+ years), we realize that that is not sustainable.

As we start to evolve spiritually and grow emotionally, no longer having the need for perfection or to impress others, our protective armor soon begins to have cracks and fall off, and we start to become who we were really meant to be. This can be painful.

Embrace it.

This means you are actually ready to live your life the way it is supposed to be lived, with healing, self- reflection, self-awareness, and making the commitment to doing the work.

By examining the pretty pieces, as well as the not so pretty pieces, that make you who you are, you can really begin to live your life.

Midlife is a developmental milestones for adults.

Are you willing to embrace the changes and step into freedom?

“Love is the only shocking act left on the Planet” - Valentine’s Day, the movie🌎❤️
Just because someone doesn’t show you their love the way you need or want to be loved doesn’t mean they don’t love you.
What’s YOUR love language? 💕🤗💍🎖👩‍❤️‍👨
The Five Love Languages book is an oldy but goody.
It one of the first books we read when we got married and started the journey of learning about and loving each other.
Part of self- growth and evolving as a human is learning how you and others need to be loved.
What’s your love language🔥?

This statement resonates with me now, more than ever.

After losing my grandmother recently, I have been thinking a lot about what it means to be present. I still think of her daily and forget she’s gone, and catch myself thinking I want to call her to catch up, or stop by to see how she is doing.

In our digital cyber- world that revolves around distraction, being present for yourself as well as others is rare these days, yet it’s the only way to have a real relationship.

As my father said many years ago, Love is spelled TIME. ❤️

That hasn’t changed; if anything, it has become more relevant. 💥

When you are gifted the present of being in someone else’s presence who is choosing to give you their time as well, recognize and appreciate it for the gift that it is. 🎁

Hurt people hurt people.
This is a not-so-new concept that has lately come back into my awareness.
One of the things I taught my daughters as they were growing up was to look for the emotion behind the behavior, when someone was acting in a way that was confusing.
Self- Awareness is also important if you are the person who has been hurt, so that you are able to heal, evolve out and not repeat the generational cycle.
This is a huge gift in adversity that we can give both ourselves and our loved ones.

I recently read a quote that said, “ You become the master of your life when you learn how to control where your attention goes”. Where are you currently spending your time and your energy? Do you have a daily practice that allows for breathing, feeling, introspection and growth? Even 5 minutes a day can change your life. What’s holding you back? You are worth it! 👊🏼🙌🏻✨

The past year has given all of us an opportunity to build stamina and resilience, whether we wanted that opportunity or not! We build resilience 👊🏼by showing up daily for ourselves and setting ourselves up for success through repeated positive habits like meditation, journaling, exercising and other positive personal work. When we don’t do the work, we fall back into our reactive selves which is NOT what we want! 🙄Keep on building that stamina and watch what miracles unfold in your life! 🙌🏻🦋❤️✨

I made it! 60 miles, great new friends and lots of laughs. Waska asked us last night after dinner what our take away was from the week and how to be realistic in keeping up the rigorous lifestyle we maintained and enjoyed for the week. This was my reply:
In the past year, it felt like there was very little that was in our control. Everything changed moment-to- moment and for those of us who like structure that was hard. What I learned from last year was also my take away from ...
There is ONE thing you always have control over in life: How You Show Up for Yourself. Whether it’s a hard hike or a hard personal or family situation, you get to choose how you show up. You may not always do it right, but you always do it the best way you know how.

What a powerful statement . Many of us put aside self-care in 2020 to care for others instead of ourselves. This felt (and potentially was), necessary in many cases. My self-care was not completely abandoned, but definitely was not the focus of my year. When I read that others LEARN how to treat us, that means we are allowing it and not setting a necessary boundary. We are not using our voice. It also means that they can UNLEARN how to treat us just as we can UNLEARN how to treat ourselves. Whatever side of this equation you are on, chose to do the work in 2021. We need self- care more than ever now. The outcome in your life and those around you will be astonishing. ❤️🦋🙌🏻✨

What an amazing week at ! For those of you not yet acquainted, The Ashram is a vegan hiking retreat (and so much more) with only 12 guests at a time that has been around since the 1970’s. It’s a very peaceful and spiritual place, with all organic food, no caffeine or alcohol, and amazing staff who truly care about you. Our hike yesterday ended with a 3 mile walk on Malibu beach 🐳. Today is the pinnacle of our hiking adventures with a 14 mile hike, so prayers welcome! ❤️🦋😊🙌🏻
