The Center for Diversity and Inclusion invites you to join us at the 2022 Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Celebration. This is an opportunity for the University of Houston community to celebrate and reflect on the legacy and life of Dr. King. This year's program, “The Journey to Justice: Moving Beyond Diversity,” highlights the anti-racism efforts and plight for justice that continues today. In this celebration, we will recognize the impact and advancements that King and other trailblazers have led and acknowledge the ongoing fight for racial equity.
Join us for this year's events:
01/18 - 01/25: MLK Gallery
01/25 6:00pm-8:00pm: MLK Commemorative Celebration featuring actress Ashley Blaine Featherson-Jenkins from Netflix Original Dear White People

I was deeply saddened and offended to hear the comments made by
Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District Board Member Scott
Henry. His comments are unacceptable, and I recommend that he resign
immediately.
Suggesting that having more Black teachers in a school district can create
an increase in the dropout rate or a decline in classroom achievement is
despicable. The rich diversity that resides in our city and region unites us
more than ever.
We should not tolerate those who seek to divide, but rather work with
everyone to ensure equal opportunities of educational access for all.
