Summer Academy wrapped last week and our newest Tigers are ready! 🐯❤️

Our incoming PharmD students spent Summer Academy strengthening their foundational knowledge, developing skills for success, and getting a head start on what it means to be a COPHS student.

We closed out the experience with a student mixer, giving the Class of 2030 a chance to relax, fellowship with their classmates, and connect with the faculty and staff who will support them throughout their PharmD journey.

The foundation has been laid, the connections have been made, and they are prepared to take on the year ahead. Welcome to COPHS, Class of 2030! 🎓💊

Texas Southern University's College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences was proud to host the U.S. Navy for a conversation about the future of healthcare education and workforce development.

Together, we explored meaningful partnership opportunities, including experiential education and internship pathways, affiliation agreements, and future collaborative initiatives that will benefit students across the health sciences.

Conversations like these open doors for our students and strengthen the pipeline of skilled, service-driven healthcare professionals ready to serve their communities and their country.
We look forward to building on this partnership and the opportunities it will create for the next generation of COPHS students.

The College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences was proud to attend the National Pharmaceutical Association (NPhA) Annual Convention , where our students, faculty, alumni, and leaders showcased the excellence that defines COPHS.

Congratulations to our Tiger family for their outstanding accomplishments:

🏆 Fanesse Muyah received an endowed scholarship established by COPHS alumnus Wilbert Bluitt.

🥇 Fanesse also partnered with a University of Houston student to earn 1st Place in the Germ Genius Competition.

🎓 Dr. Willie Capers presented a continuing education program for preceptors.

💡 Dr. Creaque Tyler, a member of the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) Board of Directors, shared the value and impact of board certification with pharmacists from across the country.

🌍 Dean Moultry joined pharmacy leaders at the inaugural Global Pharmacist Leadership Summit and the Walmart/Sam's Club Leadership Luncheon.

👏 Adjunct faculty member Damien Fisher was recognized for completing the prestigious Henry Lewis Leadership Institute.

🏅 COPHS alumnus Dr. Frank North concluded his service as Immediate Past President of NPhA and received the Terrance Burroughs Leadership Award.

💙 Alumnus Andre Brown established a new endowment to support the future of NPhA.

🤝 We also had the privilege of reconnecting with many of our alumni who continue to serve the profession as NPhA Lifetime Members.

From student achievement to faculty expertise, alumni leadership, and national engagement, COPHS continues to make an impact while advancing the future of pharmacy.

One of our favorite moments at the Texas Pharmacy Association Annual Conference was reconnecting with the incredible alumni who continue to represent Texas Southern University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences across the profession.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our COPHS Alumni Reception. It was a wonderful evening of catching up with classmates, connecting with colleagues, sharing memories, and celebrating the lifelong bonds that make the TSU family so special.

Our newest student pharmacists recently joined us for Summer Academy and Orientation, where they began building the knowledge, skills, and connections that will support them throughout pharmacy school and beyond.

From meeting classmates and faculty to strengthening foundational concepts and learning what it means to be part of the COPHS family, Summer Academy marks the first step toward becoming practice-ready pharmacists.

Our PharmD students proudly represented Texas Southern University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences at the Annual Conference!

Students showcased their knowledge and clinical skills by competing in the Student Pharmacists Self-Care Championship Jeopardy (Alexina Bosire, Cuong Peter Doan and Reyna Villatoro) and the Student Pharmacists Patient Counseling Competition (Sally Uzomba, Taylor Brown and Ramla Farah). We are also proud to celebrate Ira Baggett, recipient of the Texas Pharmacy Foundation 2026 Scholarship. Special thanks to our alumni and faculty for their support.

Congratulations to all of our students for representing COPHS with professionalism, excellence, and Tiger pride. Your dedication to learning and leadership continues to make us ! 🐅💊

Our Texas Southern University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences team attended the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) Annual Meeting, where we learned, collaborated, and explored new ideas to strengthen pharmacy education.

From educational innovation and student success to assessment, accreditation, and the future of healthcare, we were proud to represent Texas Southern University while connecting with colleagues from across the country.

We're excited to apply what we learned and bring fresh ideas back to our students, faculty, and the TSU community.
