This is what learning looks like at HCA.

Our kindergarten students are currently learning the Preamble to the Declaration of Independence. While these words are foundational to our nation’s history, they can feel abstract for young learners. To help students truly understand them, their teacher recently brought the lesson to life through an engaging classroom experience.

Moments like these reflect the kind of learning taking place every day in our classrooms, where lessons help students connect more deeply with what they are learning.

While our students enjoy spring break, we are preparing for a busy and exciting spring at HCA.

In the months ahead, our students will be celebrating several special events, including Grandparent’s Day, Field Day, and Patriot’s Day.

We will also be hosting our 2nd annual Picnic in the Park, bringing together both current and future students and families. We look forward to sharing more details as the event approaches.

We had a packed house last night for our third and final Curriculum Showcase of the school year.

Families were greeted with a display of current student artwork and then enjoyed a short Latin lesson from our Head of School before learning more about HCA’s Fine Arts, Latin, and Physical Education programs.

It was a wonderful evening with both current and prospective families. Thank you to everyone who joined us.

🤠 Go Texan Day at HCA!
Today our students celebrated the history, culture, and traditions that help shape the great state of Texas. From boots, hats, to big Texas pride, it was a joyful reminder that education is not just about books, it’s about understanding the story of the place we call home.

Our Curriculum Showcase Series has been a wonderful time of connection and learning.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our recent Literacy event. It was a joy to share more about how our students are building strong foundations in reading, language, and critical thinking.

Our students recently celebrated the 100th day of school, and our very first 100th day at HCA!

Kindergarten students proudly wore collections of 100 items, and our first grade students came dressed as 100-year-olds. It was a joyful milestone and a meaningful reminder of how much growth can happen in just 100 days.

We look forward to celebrating many more 100th days together.

As a reminder, next year HCA will serve kindergarten through second grade, continuing to grow by one grade level each year. We have a few spots remaining for the upcoming school year.

After reading The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats, our first graders brought the story to life through their own snowy illustrations, perfectly timed with the recent winter weather.

In a classical education, learning is meant to be connected and lived, not taught in isolation. By integrating literature and art, we help students deepen understanding and bring education to life.
