Opus 1 Chamber Music School invites you to reach Houston’s classical music community by placing an advertisement in our program book for the 2026-2027 academic year. Our programs are distributed multiple times a year at student Chamber Music recitals, Preparatory Program recitals, faculty recitals, and guest masterclasses. On average, these programs are viewed by approximately 250 individuals per month by students, parents, friends, family members, and Houston-area music lovers, educators, and arts supporters.
Advertising with us is an affordable way to grow your local visibility while making a direct investment in classical music education for Houston’s young musicians.

We are excited to announce one of our electives for Opus 1 Preparatory Program.
Yoga for Musicians taught by Violinist and certified yoga instructor .
More about Dr. Varma:
Jaya Varma, D.M.A., is a Houston-based violinist and yoga teacher whose freelance career has taken her across the United States and back. Most recently, she served as Acting Section Violin with the Oregon Symphony during the 2024–2025 season, and she performs regularly with an impressive roster of ensembles such as: Mercury Chamber Orchestra, Houston Grand Opera, Divisi Strings, Sarasota Opera, and the Oregon Bach Festival Orchestra among them. She holds degrees from the University of Miami, University of Michigan, and Duquesne University, and currently brings her artistry into the classroom as a teaching artist for the Houston Symphony.
Jaya brings the technical discipline of a professional orchestral violinist and the grounded, body-aware perspective of a trained yoga teacher. She is deeply passionate about sharing yoga practice with fellow musicians; exploring how breath, mindfulness, and intentional movement cannot only sharpen performance but sustain the whole person behind it.
