Cathedral High School’s first graduating class has committed to their colleges for next year! Each student was accepted into multiple 4-year colleges before Thanksgiving, and together the class has been awarded well over $2 million in scholarships and awards! Our students will head off to Texas A&M, A&M Galveston, Baylor, Benedictine, Thomas Aquinas College, Houston Christian University, Our Lady of the Lake University, Ottawa University, and to our partner university, the University of St. Thomas, bringing the virtues of the Cathedral Cavalier across Texas and beyond. Our graduates are entering programs in chemical engineering, liberal arts, philosophy, theology, math, marine biology, social work, psychology, and music.

Catholic classical education provides a deep foundation for students to discover learning, ask the great questions, and learn to respond to God’s call in their lives. Congratulations, seniors!

Our seniors return today from their capstone pilgrimage to Italy!

Over nine days, they journeyed through Assisi, Orvieto, and Rome, walking in the footsteps of the saints and encountering the beauty of the Church in a profound way. This pilgrimage was not only a time of prayer and reflection in sacred places, but also an opportunity to experience the roots of Western civilization and the richness of our Catholic heritage.

We are deeply grateful to the generous donors who made this transformative experience possible for our seniors.

We look forward to announcing the itinerary for next year's seniors very soon!

“In order to communicate the message entrusted to her by Christ, the Church needs art. Art must make perceptible, and as far as possible attractive, the world of the spirit, of the invisible, of God.” – Pope St. John Paul II

Sacred Art Live! seeks to showcase the work of living artists and to offer the public an opportunity to encounter and take home original works, prints, and other pieces that reflect the Good, the True, and the Beautiful.

Please enjoy an excerpt of Monday's Holy Week Meditation Concert.

This piece is God so loved the world from John Stainer's Crucifixion.

God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that who so believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

Welcome to our weekly artist spotlight!

Your chance to meet the artists who will be joining us in April for the Fifth Annual Sacred Art Live!

Today we have the honor of introducing you to: Evelyn Mora

I am Evelyn Mora, a Catholic artist born in Caracas, Venezuela, and based in Houston, Texas. I have been painting since childhood, when my mother first placed a brush in my hands. My formal training in graphic design and fine arts at the Escuela de Diseño y Comunicación Visual Prodiseño gave me a deep foundation in color, drawing, and art history — tools I carry into every painting I make today.

My faith is the center of my work. After years of stepping away from painting to raise my family, God called me back to my brushes during the pandemic. I began painting Our Lady, and with the blessing and encouragement of my priests, I have not stopped since. My mission is to give color to faith — to bring the sacred to life in a way that is vibrant, contemporary, and close to people's hearts. I believe the beauty of Catholic tradition has the power to inspire and move anyone who encounters it, regardless of where they are in their own spiritual journey.

I work primarily in watercolor and acrylic, with occasional abstract work. My paintings have been exhibited in Texas, New York, Mexico, and Spain, and I am a member of the International Watercolor Society of Venezuela.

WE beseech thee, O Lord, pour thy grace into our hearts; that, as we have known the Incarnation of thy Son Jesus Christ by the message of an Angel; so by his Cross and Passion we may be brought unto the glory of his Resurrection; through the same Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, ever one God, world without end. Amen.
