🌟 A Student Success Worth Celebrating
One of my students woke up at 6:30 AM before school to read an entire novel with me this school year.
Not once did this student complain or ask to stop… even on the mornings when I think we were both ready to sleep in a little more. ☀️📚
Yes, we worked on literacy skills, but something even more important grew along the way: confidence, perseverance, and the belief that hard things can become easier with consistency and effort.❤️🙌

This MAP Growth data reflects the steady progress of one of the students I worked with during this school year, a first-grade student diagnosed with dyslexia and dysgraphia.
I began working with this student during the fall of first grade in 2025, and since then, we have continued to see steady overall growth across multiple testing periods over time.
Progress does not always happen overnight. Meaningful growth often happens through structured instruction, consistency, practice, confidence-building, and continued support over time.
And while test scores are only one piece of the bigger picture, consistent growth is always encouraging to see. 🌱📚

One of my students gifted me flowers and it totally brightened my day!! It may seem small, but to me, it was a reminder of the impact I have and the difference I make every day. 🌷

Today I had the privilege of volunteering for Houston Reads Day with Literacy Now, reading aloud to a first-grade classroom.
Read-alouds have always been one of my absolute favorite parts of teaching. There is something powerful about sitting in front of a group of children, holding a book, and watching their minds light up as a story unfolds.
It reminded me again why the role of a teacher matters so deeply. A single read-aloud can spark curiosity. Build vocabulary. Strengthen comprehension. Create connection. And sometimes, it’s the moment a child begins to see themselves as a reader.
Moments like these reaffirm why I do what I do — turning struggling readers into confident, capable readers.
Thank you, for the opportunity to serve and celebrate the joy of reading. 📚✨

Growth is possible with the right support.
This first-grade student began with foundational literacy gaps that were making reading and spelling difficult.
After 16 structured sessions, the progress is measurable.
Stronger decoding.
Improved spelling accuracy.
More complete sentence writing.
Increased confidence.
This is what happens when instruction is explicit, systematic, and targeted.
Struggling now does not mean struggling forever.
With the right support, growth happens.

Jumped on the trend 😄
Now if only my hair would cooperate like this in real life…🥴

Here’s a peek into my current reading stack. 📚
Before I recommend any book, I read it myself — with my students in mind.
I look for stories that make them laugh, help them think deeply, nurture empathy, and remind them that reading can be meaningful and fun.
Selecting the right books matters… and I love choosing stories that meet each reader right where they are.

A little peek into our lessons this month!
Hands-on learning, multisensory spelling, reading confidence, and lots of celebration. 🎉
Every session is designed with purpose — structure, connection, and joy.
Growth happens one small step at a time… and every step counts. 🌟

Thank you to Lone Star College CyFair Library for allowing me to lead this dyslexia workshop. 💛📚
The most meaningful part of the evening wasn’t the slides — it was the conversations. Parents asked thoughtful questions, shared their experiences, and connected with each other in such an honest way.
It reminded me that supporting families is not just about giving information… it’s about making people feel understood and not alone.
P.S. I’m definitely not a social media influencer 😅 — I took exactly ONE picture at the start and then forgot my phone existed.
