This year marks the 25th anniversary of Cougar First Impressions! Volunteers are needed in two-hour shifts at various locations to answer questions, provide directions and distribute free water bottles during the first two days of fall semester, Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 22 and 23.

The annual university-wide election for Staff Council representatives is open now through Friday, July 8, 2022, 5:00 p.m. Vote online at AccessUH. 🗳

UH Human Resources’ CATALYST Learning Programs in partnership with Staff Council present a special professional development webinar. Staff will learn competencies dealing with strategic collaboration, social and emotional awareness, career progression, and future planning through the lens of change. “Developing Competencies Through Change” is the first event in the new Staff Affairs Professional Development series by Staff Council.

Take Your Child to Work Day is back on campus for 2022! Register your child or children for one of six exciting and fun programs hosted by University of Houston departments on Friday, June 10th. Parents/guardians must remain with children for the entire day.

Staff Council in partnership with presents “A Book Drive for Kids” at the University of Houston. Books Between Kids is a non-profit organization serving Houston’s at-risk children by providing them with books to build their own home libraries. Donation sites are located in E. Cullen, Agnes Arnold Hall, and Technology Bridge. Donate new and like-new books for Pre-K through 5th grade students.

Please join the University of Houston's Arab-American Educational Foundation Center for Arab Studies and UH Staff Council Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee on Thursday, April 28 at 12:00 pm CT (10:00 am Los Angeles / 1:00 pm New York / 6:00 pm London / 8:00 pm Jerusalem) in celebration of National Arab American Heritage Month (NAAHM)!

The 2022 NAAHM Webinar, "Arab American Women: Voices from the Grassroots," will feature contributions from Dr. Nadine Naber (Professor of Women University of Illinois Chicago), Mary Harb (Principal Founder, Palestinian American Women's Association), Dr. Zeina Zaatari (Director, Arab American Cultural Center, University of Illinois Chicago), and Jehan Hakim (Chair, Yemeni Alliance Committee).

This year’s Spring Egg Drive-Thru will take place on Saturday, April 9, 2022, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am in front of the Cullen Performance Hall. Volunteers will hand out goodie bags with toys and treats for children. Mr. and Mrs. Bunny will make an appearance. Register to pick up a goodie bag.
