Do you know a Charlotte County teen ages 14–18 who wants to build leadership skills, get more involved in their community, and have a bigger role in 4-H?
We're having a 4-H Teen Leadership Club Interest Meeting!

The Teen Leadership Club will give teens an opportunity to:
• Build leadership and communication skills
• Take on leadership roles
• Participate in community service
• Help plan 4-H events and activities
• Develop teamwork, public speaking, and career skills
• Build confidence and friendships
• Help create opportunities for other 4-H youth
This is a pilot group, so we're looking for interested teens who want to help shape what this club becomes. If we have enough interest, we will move forward with officially chartering the group as a 4-H club.
Have a voice. Make a difference. Lead the way.
School, sports, jobs, and other activities can make scheduling difficult, so we'll also talk with the group about the best time for regular meetings. Weekends are an option!

Join Region 8 as they will be hosting a tour focused on local proteins and other locally sourced products that schools can purchase and incorporate into their operations. Attendees will tour 5 Pillar Meats, a family-owned custom and USDA-inspected meat processing facility in Farmville, Virginia, specializing in premier Virginia-raised cattle, sheep, and goats. Sekou Abdus-Sabur will share the story of how the business began and the journey to opening the processing facility in Farmville. Additional guests will discuss their products and how they can be used in school kitchens. Following the tour, participants will enjoy a delicious lunch prepared using locally grown and sourced products.

🐔 Interested in learning how to process your own poultry? Join Amelia Cooperative Extension for a Hands-on Poultry Processing Class in Burkeville, VA!

This workshop is designed to give participants practical, hands-on experience with poultry processing from start to finish. You'll also learn essential food safety and handling practices to help ensure a safe, high-quality product. This program will be held at a private farm, participants should plan to bring their own lunch as needed. Water and light refreshments will be provided.
