🌀🏠 Can It Survive the Storm? Our 3rd Grade Engineers Are on the Case! 🌧️💨

Our 3rd Grade Lions put their knowledge, creativity, and problem-solving skills to work as they designed and built structures made to withstand hurricane conditions! 🦁🔨

Living in Louisiana makes learning about hurricanes especially meaningful. Through this hands-on challenge, students had to plan, build, test, problem-solve, and improve their designs—just like real engineers! 🏗️🧠

And as we move closer to the end of another hurricane season, we are especially grateful for every day of safety and protection for our families and communities. 💙🙏🏽

🫀🧠 Learning From the Inside Out! 🦴🍎

Our 1st Grade Lions are becoming little experts on the Human Body! 🦁🔎

As part of their Knowledge unit, students are learning about the amazing human body while also thinking about the choices that help keep our bodies healthy and strong. 💪🏽❤️

In this activity, students put their knowledge to work by sorting and writing about healthy and unhealthy choices—building content knowledge, vocabulary, critical thinking and writing skills all at the same time! ✏️🧠

Because at LPE, we don’t just want our Lions to know it…we want them to think about it, talk about it, and apply it! ✨

🔵🟡🔴 Making Our Mark with MATH! 🔴🟡🔵

Our 1st Grade Lions celebrated International Dot Day by connecting creativity, confidence, and mathematical thinking! 🦁✨

Using colorful counters, students explored number bonds and discovered how smaller parts work together to make a whole. 🔢🔴🔵 Whether they were building numbers, moving counters, or explaining their thinking, our mathematicians were learning by doing!

Just like every dot can become part of something amazing, every number has a story—and every Lion has the potential to make their mark! 🎨➕🧮

🥢✨ From Knowledge to Experience! ✨🥢

Our 2nd grade Lions took their learning beyond the pages of their books! 🦁📚

After culminating their Knowledge unit on Early Asian Civilizations, students celebrated with a special cultural experience—putting their chopstick skills to the test while enjoying a meal together! 🥢🍚

Throughout the unit, they expanded their knowledge of early Asian civilizations, explored a culture different from their own, and made meaningful connections between what they learned and the world around them.

And judging by these pictures… using chopsticks may have been the most delicious challenge of the unit! 😋🥢
